CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The City of Charlotte is pausing $1 million in funding budgeted for a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools housing program tied to a law firm and contractor at the center of the school district’s ongoing saga.
CMS and Charlotte were working on a grant agreement for the funds earlier this month but the city hadn’t signed it yet, even though former CMS Board Chair Stephanie Sneed did so on September 4.
A memo sent to council by the city’s Communications Director Jason Schneider says “City staff are evaluating the status of the project and will report to Council with additional information prior to the execution of the agreement.”…
