GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Tea, flowers, cocktails and live entertainment are headed to a vacant downtown Grand Rapids storefront under plans approved by city officials this week.
The Grand Rapids Planning Commission approved a special land use and site plan review request on Thursday, Sept. 24, for Met Grand Rapids at 15 Ionia Ave. SW. The approval allows the business to operate a retail tea and floral shop during the day alongside an evening cocktail lounge and performance space.
The 2,135-square-foot space formerly housed Bar Divani, which closed in spring 2024. Under the approved proposal, the front portion of the building will serve daytime tea and coffee customers while also selling flowers.
