Bellarmine University, Centre College, Kentucky State University and Western Kentucky University earned recognition for value, teaching, veterans’ services and academic programs in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, released Sept. 22.
The four schools appear in different ranking categories. Bellarmine and WKU are classified as regional universities in the South, Kentucky State appears primarily among regional colleges in the South, and Centre is ranked among national liberal arts colleges. Their overall placements therefore are not directly comparable.
In Louisville, Bellarmine ranked No. 26 among Southern regional universities, making it the highest-ranked private Kentucky institution in that category. It also placed No. 10 for Best Value and No. 11 for Best Colleges for Veterans.
