CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A North Carolina man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a Horry County jury convicted him of killing a woman inside her Loris home in 2024.
Kenyarta Trayeli Smith, 35, was found guilty of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Circuit Court Judge B. Alex Hyman sentenced Smith to life in prison following the verdict. He will not be eligible for parole or supervised release.
The case stemmed from the Sept. 17, 2024, killing of Tyronda Bellamy at her home on Alice Drive in Loris. Horry County police found Bellamy dead on her bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to the back of her head and two additional gunshot wounds to her torso, prosecutors said…
