HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Many Hopewell residents were accidentally overcharged for their trash services on their latest bills, the city announced on Friday.
The error, which was identified by billing provider Minol USA, impacts “most of the city’s current Sewer and Sanitation account statements,” according to a Friday, Sept. 25 Facebook post from Hopewell officials.
As a result of this error, residential customers with one trash bin may have been charged $34.32 instead of $30.91 for their trash services. Customers with more than one trash bin were also impacted, but the city did not specify exactly how much they may have been overcharged…
