On Wednesday afternoon, Chad Norton sat in his cramped office at Webster Pond in Syracuse’s Valley neighborhood, responding to Facebook comments about a GoFundMe he’d launched days earlier asking for $9,000 to cover operating expenses and pay past due bills.
“Sadly, I had to reach out to the public because in today’s economy, the costs are outweighing the donations,” Norton said. “Don’t get me wrong. The donations are still phenomenal. They’re just not enough to cover the current price hike and everything we have going on.”
