Skaneateles businessman Adam Weitsman is bringing one of sculptor Thomas Dambo’s signature gigantic trolls to Ithaca.
Weitsman, who owns Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling, has commissioned Dambo to create a troll sculpture that will overlook the gorge below the former Carl Sagan property at 900 Stewart Ave. in Ithaca. Made from reclaimed materials, the troll will be visible to the public from the bridge spanning the gorge.
Dambo’s larger-than-life trolls have been installed around the world. In the summer of 2026, six troll sculptures, each about 20 feet high, were unveiled at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake as part of TROLLS: Save the Humans. The exhibit has been hugely popular, with The Wild warning visitors of lines and crowds on weekend days.
