‘I just remember red hair’: Rescuer speaks out after pulling students through windows of burning van

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (First Alert 4) – Geno Spearman said there was “no time to think” when helping to rescue students and adults from a fiery van crash in Cahokia Heights this week.

The van was carrying six Belleville West High School students and two adults when it hit a pole and quickly caught fire. A 17-year-old died in the crash.

As police interview victims and witnesses and try to determine the cause of the wreck, First Alert 4 spoke with one of the good Samaritans who stopped to help rescue those inside the van…
