HONOLULU (KHON2) — While the festivities are already in full swing, the 78th annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade is set to take over the streets of Waikiki, showcasing bright colors, dancers and so much more.
Planning on going to this year’s Aloha Festivals? Here is everything you need to know ahead of the event:
When/Where
This year’s Aloha Festival floral parade will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., from Ala Moana Park through Kalākaua Avenue to Kapi‘olani Park.
Watch floats decorated with fresh flowers and men and women on horseback showcasing the traditional art of pāʻū riding.
Road Closures
The following roads will be closed due to the parade:
- 7:30 a.m. — Ala Moana Blvd. (left turn lanes, Atkinson-Ward)
- 8:00 a.m. — Ala Moana Blvd., Ilalo St., Ward Ave., Kamake‘e St., Kalia Rd., Ena Rd.
- 9:30 a.m. — Waikiki closures begin
All closed roads will reopen at noon. Drivers in the area should plan their trips and expect delays during this time.
Parking
For parking, it is recommended to look near Ala Wai Boulevard, the Honolulu Zoo, Ala Moana Beach Park, International Market Place or Kapiolani Park.
