YPSILANTI, MI – Water filtration in Ypsilanti was briefly paused Thursday evening after an electrical failure, according to the local utilities authority.
An electrical failure at the Water Resource Recovery Facility caused a pump for a filtration system to fail shortly before 5 p.m. Sept. 24, according to the Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority. To avoid a water spillage that could damage other equipment, workers opened a bypass gate, allowing the water to flow directly into the Lower Rouge River.
Filtration operations were then paused while the electrical failure was fixed…
