Researchers at the University of Memphis are drilling hundreds of feet beneath Meeman-Shelby Forest as they work to better understand how underground faults could affect groundwater and the Memphis aquifer.
Crews are drilling a borehole approximately 400 feet deep as part of research examining how faults beneath Shelby County may control the movement of groundwater.
