MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Police are searching for a driver who struck a Goodwill employee and fled the scene along Air Base Boulevard, prompting organization leaders to demand immediate pedestrian safety improvements along the corridor.
The incident occurred while the worker, who has asked not to be identified, was making his daily commute across the busy roadway to catch a city bus.
“Our employee was abiding by the law, and he was crossing when he was supposed to,” said Taylor Dunn, public relations director for Goodwill of Central Alabama. “This car just ran right into him, and instead of stopping, it was a hit-and-run.”…
