Woman Killed in Her Own Home, Suspect on the Run in Chesapeake
I’ve been following crime coverage out of Hampton Roads for a while now, and this one stopped me. A woman is dead. Three kids were in the house when it happened. And the person police say did it is still out there.
What Happened on Holly Cove Drive
Thursday night, around 7:58 PM, Chesapeake police were called to the 3900 block of Holly Cove Drive for a report of a domestic assault in progress.
When officers went inside, they found the woman dead in a bathroom with gunshot wounds.
The Suspect Had Already Left
Here’s the part that should worry anyone living nearby. Police said the suspect had left before officers arrived. He’s still being searched for.
No name has been released publicly yet. No confirmed relationship between the victim and the suspect either, though the domestic assault call suggests they knew each other.
Three Kids Were in That House
Three children who were inside the home were placed with local family members.
I don’t think enough gets said about this part of these stories. A case like this doesn’t end with an arrest. Three kids just lost their mother, in their own home, in a way no child should ever have to process…
