Transportation officials and state police are urging Pennsylvania drivers to remain cautious on area roads this autumn as deer activity increases during the seasonal transition.
According to PennDOT data, Pennsylvania recorded 6,309 deer-related crashes last year. Those collisions resulted in 1,408 injuries and 11 fatalities, state officials reported.
In PennDOT District 1, which covers Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties, drivers were involved in 513 deer crashes in 2025.
