A night of drinking inside a northeast Raleigh home spiraled into violence early Saturday morning, leaving one man stabbed 10 times and a child present in the home during the attack. Raleigh police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the stabbing, which unfolded on the 3000 block of Lake Woodard Drive.
Officers were called to the scene around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, according to the Raleigh Police Department, as reported by CBS17.com. Investigators said two men had become inebriated while drinking alcohol together inside the residence, and the evening ended with one stabbing the other eight times in the abdomen and front part of his body, plus twice more in the back, according to officers.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, though an officer told the outlet his wounds were believed to be non-life-threatening. Perhaps most unsettling to neighbors and investigators alike, a child was present in the home during the fight and stabbing, according to officers on scene.
Felony Charge Carries Mandatory Prison Time
