LAFAYETTE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The LaFayette Apple Festival is still a few weeks away, but one of its sweetest traditions is already in full swing at St. Joseph’s Church.
More than 50 volunteers, including the local Boy Scouts troop, began baking pies for the festival earlier this month and aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
So far, volunteers have made 1,900 pies. The goal is to bake a total of 2,700 pies and sell a thousand before the festival. The rest will be sold the weekend of the festival on Oct. 10-11…
