Brisket costs so much now that one of the best barbecue joints in Texas has stopped selling it daily.
Andrew Soto owns Butter’s BBQ in Sinton, Texas — one of the best barbecue joints in the state — and when his wholesale brisket cost jumped another $1 a pound in one week, he got on Facebook and told his customers the difficult decision he had to make.

“Not a post I’d ever thought I had to make, guys,” he wrote on Sept. 20. “Unfortunately, moving forward, brisket will no longer be a part of our menu.”
