A long bus ride to southeast Kansas may have contributed to a sluggish start for the Rose Hill Rockets as they traveled to Chanute to take on the Blue Comets. In fact, it was the closing seconds of the first quarter before anything positive occurred for the Rockets.
From that moment, though, it was complete domination as Rose Hill cruised to a 36-2 win over Chanute, a victory defined by aggressive defense and a strong running game.
The Blue Comets (1-3) came out strong on their homecoming night. After deferring the opening kickoff and forcing a quick three-and-out defensively, their offense showed signs of getting into a rhythm. Quarterback Gage Frazell completed seven straight passes, and running back Jordan Patterson found holes to push the ball up the field for the Blue Comets.
