CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A bill in Congress could make a 32-hour workweek the standard nationwide, but one Cedar Rapids company already offers the option.
Company offers the choice
Dave Rasmussen opened Structural Design Group, an engineering firm in 2019. It’s worked on projects like Cedar Rapids new Busse Branch Library and the Kirkwood Hotel. Employees can choose to work 40 hours or 32 hours, and both options count as full time.
“That was my choice to offer that to our employees,” Rasmussen said.
