University of Oregon researchers have a new study that says the mobile crisis counseling service CAHOOTS – Crisis Assistance Helping Out On The Streets- diverted far more calls from the Eugene Police Department than first thought.
A 2022 summary report from the EPD put the diversion rate between 3% and 8% based on call data from the previous year.
