RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Community members celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday with the 5th annual Virginia Fiesta at the Southside Community Center in Richmond.
The day-long celebration ran from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, and featured musicians, dancers and cultural craft and food vendors.
“Even though we were celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, it was open to the entire community,” 9th District Councilmember Nicole Jones said. “So we saw the community at large come out and celebrate and learn about different cultures, engage differently in ways that, you know, help them understand who’s their neighbors and who’s in their neighborhoods as well.”…
