OTAY MESA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 56-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a roadway in Otay Mesa Saturday morning, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 7:49 a.m. at Otay Center Drive and Siempre Viva Road.
Police said the 54-year-old driver of a 2016 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Otay Center Drive and was waiting to turn left onto eastbound Siempre Viva Road. The driver was yielding to northbound traffic.
Once northbound traffic cleared, the pickup continued its left turn and collided with the pedestrian at or near a crosswalk, according to SDPD.

The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was found to have a fractured femur and a small brain bleed. His current condition is unknown…
