At L. Hollingworth School for the Talented and Gifted, Megan DeSloover is offering the same thing as many area community schools: a focused academic experience and the promise of individualized student care.
“I think every family is looking for something different,” said Ms. DeSloover, the head of school. “I think our school is a great option for families if they are looking for a smaller setting and some quality instruction. We are by no means a fit for everyone, but that is the name of the game.”

School report cards released by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce this month reveal a spectrum of circumstances for Toledo’s community schools.
