A New Orleans man was sentenced to 17 years in state prison Thursday for killing a man he invited into his home.
A jury in May found Tyrone Dewey, 66, guilty of manslaughter and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, ending a four-day trial.
Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams’ office had tried Dewey for second-degree murder over the June 9, 2022 killing of 46-year-old Errol Cutno.
