Henderson County families planning for October face different days away from school depending on which calendar their children follow. FLEX students have teacher workdays at the start of the month, while the traditional and early-college calendar places its October workdays a week later.
For traditional and early-college families, Friday, October 9, is an optional teacher workday, followed by a required teacher workday Monday, October 12. Those dates fall on either side of the weekend, creating a four-day stretch without student instruction under that calendar.
