PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The worst of the storm may be over, but cleanup and restoration efforts continue after some communities dealt with power outages, flooding and fallen trees.
Thousands of residents across southern New England lost power at some point over the weekend due to strong winds and heavy rains brought on by the nor’easter.

Rhode Island Energy President Greg Cornett said roughly 270 crews, including 170 external teams, worked to restore energy for customers.
“We get down to a couple hundred outages, and then we have a bunch more because the winds pick back up,” Cornett explained. “So, it’s been one of those storms. We expected that. We knew it was going to be a slog through the weekend, and it’s certainly been that.”…
