A Roanoke woman accused of defrauding two federal pandemic relief programs and lying on her taxes was arraigned in federal court on September 16, according to WFXR.
Jazmin Jennings, 38, was indicted September 3 on six counts covering false tax returns and fraudulent collection of COVID-19-era government funds, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia said.
WDBJ7 reported the indictment stems from an announcement by the same federal prosecutors, who described the case as part of an ongoing crackdown on pandemic-era fraud in the region.
