Since connoisseurs with the 1879 Distilling Company began creating spirits in Des Peres in 2023, they rapidly distinguished themselves within the beverages industry, earning significant accolades on both national and international platforms.
“We’ve successfully competed at the highest levels, and are proud recipients of seven awards from the 2025 American Craft Spirits Association, 11 awards at the 2024 American Distilling Institute International Spirits Competition and six awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition,” said founder Mark Disper, co-owner of both the distillery and The Village Bar & Restaurant in Des Peres, along with lead distiller and co-owner Chuck Kirberg.
