SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Jenny Lowe has fought cancer four times, but that hasn’t gotten in the way of forming a special bond with her daughter. She continues to battle and to find ways to be a loving partner and a caring mother, one of which includes sharing her love of a musical artist.
The cancer diagnoses
In 2019, Lowe was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer. The diagnosis happened right when she and her husband, James, were preparing to start a family.
“Due to that diagnosis, I lost my ability to have children of my own,” Jenny shared with us. “So, we went through all of the cancer treatments and everything, and when I was deemed in remission, we went through the surrogacy process through anonymous egg donation and ended up having a surrogate carry our daughter, Hope, who we had in 2021.”
In 2023, Jenny’s cancer came back, forcing her to go through the treatment again. She achieved a state of remission once more, but the cancer came back again in in July of 2025. After undergoing treatment for a third time, Jenny was only in remission for 6 months before being diagnosed for a fourth time…
