Wyoming man gets more than 11 years in prison for drug trafficking

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Wyoming man will spend more than a decade behind bars for drug trafficking.

44-year-old Ramico Earvin was sentenced to 11 years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and carfentanil, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan.

Shooting leads police to bust of ‘tremendously dangerous’ carfentanil

According to the attorney’s office, the drug trafficking investigation began when authorities were investigating a shooting that happened in March 2025, where Earvin shot a man in the leg outside of their apartment building.

When authorities searched Earvin’s home, they located a .45 caliber revolver, more than a kilogram of fentanyl, nearly a kilogram of carfentanil and a safe that included ammunition and “baggies commonly used for drug packaging, scale attachments and digital sales,” according to the attorney’s office…
