FIRST ALERT: Tropical Storm Hanna could form in the next day or two

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an organized low pressure area east-northeast of Bermuda that is likely to become a tropical depression or storm soon. The next name on the list is Hanna.

According to the National Hurricane Center, recent satellite data show shower and thunderstorm activity becoming better organized. While fast forward motion makes it unclear if a well-defined center has formed, environmental conditions favor this system becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm over the next day or two as it slows down and turns east-southeastward.

This system does not pose a threat to the Carolinas.
