A woman was found dead in a ditch in Wine Country on Monday after what police believe was possibly a hit-and-run involving a vehicle, authorities said.
She was found hours after a driver called the California Highway Patrol and reported having run over a bicycle that was lying in the roadway, according to the CHP. When officers arrived at about 8:43 p.m. Sunday, they did not find a bicycle or a body.
