A report from Texas Tech University’s student newspaper sheds more light on the recent firing of Texas Tech volleyball coach Tony Graystone.
The report from Austin Jackson of The Daily Toreador states the outlet obtained an email sent to athletic director Kirby Hocutt asking for a meeting “to discuss physical abuse, medical mistreatment and felony battery allegedly committed” by Graystone, who was fired earlier this month.
The report states Hocutt was sent the email on Sept. 7 with the subject line of “Physical abuse” and requested a meeting to discuss the matter as well as privacy of the matter until after the meeting out of “fear of increased retaliation and intimidation.” The name of the sender is redacted from the documents the DT obtained, as was the person identified as “a member of the TTU Volleyball team.”…
