WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Adrian Campa says get ready for some rain! Our highly advertised slow-moving weather maker will be arriving from the west will interact with tropical moisture – remnants of Polo – to produce numerous showers and storms. Since we are expecting days of rain, we have issued a Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day from Tuesday – Thursday for the risk of heavy rain and flooding, for all of Kansas.
The activity will start tonight in far western Kansas and then spread east across the state on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain chances will linger into Thursday across the area and when all is said and done, widespread 1-3′’ of rain will have fallen across Kansas. Some areas, primarily in northern KS, may see locally higher amounts.
While the risk of severe weather is very low, the chance of heavy/flooding rainfall is climbing. The tropical element will enhance the rain totals with most places seeing between two and three inches of rain, and possibly higher in spots…
