- Anne Hathaway says doctor warned her that ‘Hot Ones’ interview could induce early labor (nbcnews.com)
Anne Hathaway’s career is blazing hot, but when it comes to spicy challenges, her doctor is putting the brakes on-at least for now.
The pregnant actress revealed during an episode of the “Talk of the Townsends” podcast that her doctor advised against participating in the popular YouTube series “Hot Ones” while on the press tour for the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel, “Verity.” The show, known for grilling celebrities with increasingly fiery chicken wings, posed a risk of triggering early labor for Hathaway.
“We did the first three wings for real, and then I switched to dummy wings,” Hathaway explained. “I thought I could handle the ‘Hot Ones’ challenge for this film’s press, but then I got pregnant, and my doctor said it might bring on early labor.”
This comes as Hathaway promotes “Verity,” marking her fifth film this year. The Oscar-winning actress has had a standout year, starring in major releases like “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and “The Odyssey.”
Since its debut in 2015, “Hot Ones,” hosted by Sean Evans, has become a viral sensation, featuring stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Lorde, and Keke Palmer, and even earning spoofs on “Saturday Night Live.”
Though she hasn’t yet braved the spicy gauntlet, Hathaway remains hopeful: “Maybe next year,” she said.
Off-screen, Hathaway shares her life with husband Adam Shulman, an actor, producer, and jewelry designer, along with their two young sons.
