AIKEN — Mounds of memorabilia are on track to get extra attention in a few weeks, courtesy of a History Channel program that has been a hit since 2010.
Plans are for the “American Pickers” team to visit the Carolinas and Virginia in November, and an effort is underway to find “large, rare collections” and tell “the interesting story behind your stuff,” as stated in promotional material.
The show’s hundreds of host sites, over the years, have included at least one in Aiken County. Much of the estate of North Augusta businessman Gordon Farmer, a World War II veteran, was explored and featured in a 2010 episode titled “Gordon’s Gold Mine.”…
