PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Pembroke Fire Department and multiple other agencies responded to a large field fire Monday evening.
Officials reported that the fire occurred at a soybean field at the 2900 block of Mason Lane in Pembroke. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fast-moving field fire burning in close proximity to three residential structures, situated within 100 feet of the fire perimeter, according to Pembroke FD.
In conjunction with Fairview, Guthrie, Trenton, Highland, Honey Grove and Oak Grove Fire Departments, they were able to successfully contain the blaze to the field, preventing any structural damage or loss to nearby homes. Due to the scope of the fire, smoke was visible in the surrounding area…
