October is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Awareness Month. A safe sleep area can help reduce a baby’s risk for SIDS and other sleep-related deaths, such as accidental suffocation.
The Safe Sleep Community Council, comprised of representatives from organizations including Piedmont Columbus Regional, Safe Kids Columbus, Georgia Department of Public Health, UGA Cooperative Extension, Childcare Resource and Referral, St. Francis Hospital and more for the 4th Annual Safe Sleep for Babies symposium to educate the public on safe sleep practices for babies.
