In West Pelzer, South Carolina, a dog survived a 50-foot fall into an abandoned well. Fortunately, the dog was brought back up and reunited with its family after a rescuer descended using supplied air.

Crews from the West Pelzer Fire Department were dispatched to an abandoned well at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 21 after a dog fell roughly 50 feet, FOX Carolina reported.
After assessing the well, firefighters determined the atmosphere inside made entry unsafe without supplied air. One rescuer went down, secured the dog, and the animal was brought safely back to the surface.
Assistance came from the Anderson Technical Rescue Team as well as the fire departments in Anderson City, Williamston, and Whitefield, according to FOX Carolina. Once the operation was over, the dog was back with its owners…
