AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The City of Canyon and the City of Clovis, New Mexico, will be giving out sandbags to residents before due to possible flooding conditions this week.
Officials with the City of Canyon noted that residents can pick up sandbags from the Canyon Area Library north parking lot. City officials note that sandbags can help redirect or slow shallow, moving water around doorways, garages, and other low entry points.
“For best results, place bags tightly together in a row with the folded end facing the direction of water flow. Stack additional bags in a staggered pattern if needed,” said Canyon city officials.
