BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A local business donated fitness equipment to two fire departments in Livingston Parish, in hopes of preventing cardiac arrest.
Planet Fitness Denham Springs, located at 2334 S. Range Avenue, gave a total of 12 pieces of equipment to the Denham Springs Fire Department and the Livingston Parish Fire Department on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Planet Fitness said cardiac arrest is the number one killer of members in the fire service and that fitness training lowers the risk of cardiac arrest mainly by targeting and reversing the underlying vascular and structural root causes…
