Light rain fades for Western Oregon, SW Wash. as warmer weather returns

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A weak cold front will continue pushing across the Pacific Northwest Tuesday afternoon, ushering in slightly cooler-than-average temperatures, plenty of cloud cover and areas of light rain and patchy drizzle.

This system does not have much moisture or strong upper-level support to work with, so rainfall amounts will remain limited around the Portland Metro and Willamette Valley. Most locations will only see a few passing raindrops or periods of drizzle. The best chance for steadier rain will remain along the Oregon and Washington coast and farther north toward Seattle.

For Portland, the main impacts will be the clouds and cooler fall temperatures, with afternoon highs only reaching the upper 60s. Any rainfall that develops will remain light, with little accumulation expected across the metro area…
