RENO, Nev. — Diesel prices in Reno are approaching $7 a gallon, and for some small businesses the impact is stretching far beyond the pump.
For food truck owners, fuel is not just another line item — it is essential to getting to events and powering equipment once they arrive. Kurtis Tan, owner of the Mr. Yummy Yummy food truck, said rising diesel costs are affecting both transportation and the cost of supplies.
“Every mile counts. Not only transportation, but the food costs have increased due to mileage. The supply companies really put that down on us, and we don’t want to put that on the customer,” Tan said.
