ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is considering closing six of its eight branch locations across Western and Central New York as traditional betting locations continue to lose money.
WROTBC’s Board of Directors has indicated it intends to move forward with a consolidation plan that would leave only two branches open: the Wehrle location in Williamsville and the Marway location in Gates.
Under the proposal, branches in Cheektowaga and North Tonawanda would close, along with locations in Penfield, Lyell, Auburn, and Jamestown. The closures are proposed for around Oct. 31…
