Ohio authorities are hoping to identify the skeletal remains of a young man whose body was found in the woods 35 years ago.
The black male, who was most likely between 18 to 21 years old, was discovered by children playing at the rear of 4954 East 81st St. in Garfield Heights on Sept. 11, 1991, according to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office tells PEOPLE the case is now being investigated as a homicide.
“It’s under active investigation with a renewed focus on identification,” says Christopher Harris, External Affairs Manager with the medical examiner’s Office. “April 30, 2026 the death certificate was changed to homicide.”…
