A Florida retail-theft investigation that began with repeated thefts of high-priced LEGO sets from a Target now spans two open felony cases after deputies arrested a man following a U-Haul pursuit.
Ronald Lorne Tipton Jr., 35, was arrested Sept. 15 after Nassau County Sheriff’s Office investigators linked him to three earlier incidents at the Target on State Road 200 in Yulee and then encountered him during another alleged theft at a nearby Walmart.
An arrest affidavit filed in Nassau County court records says Tipton later identified himself in photographs from the Target surveillance footage and admitted selling stolen LEGO sets to a man in Jacksonville for 50% of their retail price.
