The first time the idea of doing the Redland Creek Trail was pitched to Lawrenceville City Manager Chuck Warbington, it was just a crude drawing on the back a napkin.
That was a decade ago and, at the time, it was not popular with residents because it would have gone right up to the backyards of homes in several neighborhoods.
“The community was in an uproar and totally opposed to it so I think my first month or two at the city, I went to very hostile public meetings and at that point, it was just decided, ‘Let’s shelve this,’” Warbington said…
