Man charged in Jamaican woman’s Myrtle Beach death extradited to Horry County jail, appears in court

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A 39-year-old man charged in connection with a Jamaican woman who was found dead inside her home in July has been extradited to Horry County and appeared in court on Tuesday.

Vinson De-Niro Jones of Myrtle Beach was taken into custody last month in Detroit. He was denied bond for a weapons charge he faces at his court appearance on Tuesday, but municipal judges do not have the authority to set bond for murder charges.

Jones’ charges stem from the killing of Jeneil Leon, who was found dead of a gunshot wound on July 21 after Myrtle Beach police responded to her Greens Boulevard home for a welfare check.
