RI woman says car purchased online turned out to be stolen

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — When Jessica Castro bought a 2018 Honda Accord Sport back in May, she said everything looked legitimate.

That didn’t change until she was stopped by Cranston police officers a few weeks later for failing to register the car in a timely manner.

“Once we pulled [the car] over, the officer discovered, by running the VIN number, that the car was reported stolen by its rightful owner,” Cranston Police Maj. Todd Patalano told 12 News…
