Two injured, man arrested following shooting incident in Halifax County

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Two people were injured and one was arrested following a shooting incident that occurred in Halifax County on Saturday, South Boston Police Department said.

SBPD said they responded to the area of Seymour Drive and Marshall Avenue on Saturday around 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the arm and chest area. He was taken via helicopter to a Roanoke hospital for further treatment.

Authorities said that, while on scene, they were notified that a person had arrived at the Halifax Sentara Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh.
